Every technological advancement that takes place in the modern era is known to have its benefits and draw backs. Even though this is the case, it is in human nature to over look the draw backs, especially if the benefits are so rewarding. All of the advancements that man has created for the past few decades as made ones life much easier in various ways and forms. The advancements that have been bought into the market have been designed to give maximum output with minimum input. Even though this has been known to increase efficiency, it has also bought a few greater concerns that many people have over looked.

Seeing as technology advances so that most of the effort required is taken over by machinery, it does not come to one as a surprise when you hear that nearly 87% of the world population is more prominent to a health disease due to being over weight.

With all these advancements and man becoming more and more reliable on technology, the amount of effort a human body exerts on average has been reduced by 45%. This in effect has increased the number of individuals that are found to be obese and over weight.

It is a proven fact that the more over weight you are, the higher chance you posses of being affected by a health disease. The most common types of illnesses that are known to be associated with obesity include diabetes and heart disease. Due to this new study, many health experts are trying to get more people involved in various recreational and sporting activities. Unfortunately, since the last five years, there has been a large decrease in the number of individuals that are known to participate in various sporting activities. The worrying thing is that over 45% of the people are known to be the youth.

Seeing as most technological advancements are aimed at the younger generation it does not come to one as a surprise when you see that on average the current sixteen year old is more occupied with video games and TV in comparison to a physical activity.

Seeing as the current youth is not as actively involved in physical activities as they use to be, there has been a large increase in the number of teenagers facing various illnesses that would normally be found in individuals in their late forties.

For this reason, it is important that we all try to do our bit in encouraging the youth to participate in various sporting and recreational activities. In trying to achieve this particular goal, there are many approaches that one can develop. One approach that has been taken by many high schools and colleges in the United States is making sports a compulsory as part of their education system.

This ensures that a person is known to at least take part in one sport if not more. Other ways that you can try is by introducing recreational and sporting activities at your community level.

Remaining persistent in getting the youth to participate in various sporting activities is very important to ensure that future generations do not follow the same path.
